Dear host family,

My father’s name is _____ and he works as ______. I also have an

another small town in the province
of ____ called ____.
My sister got pregnant last year and my niece was born on September 22, 2012.
Being aunt is one of the best experiences of my life. My niece’s name is ____,
she is very pretty and in this month she is going to be one year old. We are a
very close family and we love to get together and talk. They are very happy
with my decision to become an au pair and they support me completely.
I
finished Early Childhood Education at _____ University four years
ago. I decided to do this degree because I have always loved children and I
have always dreamed of becoming a teacher. It was a great part of my life
because I learned a lot, especially in the practices in a school where I could
be in a class with 20 children from 5 years. At that time was when I realized
that I was not mistaken in my choice to be a teacher because I love working
with children, seeing their evolution and learning every day and knowing that I
am one of the people who influence the formation of children, their education
and the persons in who they will become someday. And during that time I
realized that I have three great qualities to work with children: the
listening, patience, and I am especially affectionate.
Later, I started going to English classes at the Official Language
School and I liked learning
English so much that I decided to do the degree of English teacher.
My experience in working with children started in the university
practices, I was in two schools with children of four and five years. I had a
tutor and I could explain activities, play with children, correct their
homework and classwork…
I also worked during two summers in a summer school. I had a class of
about eighteen children of three and four years, and we did a lot of activities
and workshops, we went to the swimming pool, to the cinema, we dressed up about
different topics each week...
And finally, two months ago I worked in a kindergarten. I took care of
children of 1 and 2 years old. I had to change children's diapers, dress them,
help them to sleep, play with them, read stories...
In
my free time, I love reading books, listening to music and spending time with
my family and friends. I love animals, I have a dog, Duna, and she is part of
our family. I like also watching films and American series, and I specially
love watching formula one, it is one of my passions.
I have decided to be an au pair because I think it is a great
opportunity to improve my English and also to work on what I like: children. I
also think it is a great opportunity to experience other country, culture and
lifestyle. I have chosen the U.S.
because I have always dreamed of knowing your country, I think it is amazing.
I
hope you have been able to know me better through this letter. I would love to
be your au pair and that we can live this great experience together. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best
wishes,
Beatriz.
